Community Overview Report
- Item #: COP
The Community Overview Report is a tool to evaluate a community, a site, or a region for a practice.
It is divided into three parts:-Competition
-Demographics
-Psychographics (Lifestyles)
NOTE: When you order the Report, you will receive a short time later a link to a form that you should complete that will tell us about the location we are to examine, your priorities, and whatever else you would like to know about.
The Report is written so professionals can understand the implications of the data that is revealed from THEIR perspective. The Report starts with an Overview that discusses the time-distance measurements (isochrones) needed to determine where potential patients will likely travel to get to the location. This analysis of the speed limits, geographical barriers, psychological barriers, landmarks, and major transportation arteries gives the reader and understanding of the big picture of the site.
Included in this section is an overview of demographic gravity. This is an analysis of WHY people travel past a given site.
The Area-of-Study normally consists of up to 14 Zip Codes. If desired, we can provide a depiction of the Effective Practice Area if the client will fax to us the number of patients per Zip Code.
Competition
The ratio of doctor-to-population is examined. For specialists, this includes an analysis of the referral base relative to the area of study or practice site. Another map is included that shows the distribution of doctors around the Area of Study.
Our consideration of competition takes into account both individual doctors and practices. We draw upon several databases to determine the number of competing professionals including Professional Societies, Donnelly Databases, Dr. List Data, and white page directories.
Demographics
The key demographic statistics are presented in full-page, color graph and chart formats. The information includes a prose analysis of why a particular bit of data might be important for a practice in a given site. The data includes
-Population-Projected Population
-Median Age
-Median Income
-Income by Percentage
-Households
-Age by Percentage
-Per Capita Income
-Average Disposable Income
-Psychographics (Lifestyles)
To make sure the Client truly understands the population, we provide an analysis of the Tapestry Lifestyle Groups (r) and Employment/Employee/Industry data and analysis. These powerful tools provide as complete an analysis of the Area of Study available specifically for doctors that can be found anywhere.

Analysis
A person can get data from any source. It is the Analysis of that data in a way that puts the information perspective for professionals that is most important. Just what makes an area good or bad, filled with potential or burdened with risk is what a marketing analyst of demographic data can provide. It is the perspective gained with training and years of experience that makes these Reports so invaluable.
Ordering
To order a report, all we need is the address of the practice, practice type and shipping address. Other information is useful, however. It is always helpful to have a print out of the practice?s distribution of patients by Zip Code. If the report is for a specialty practice, knowing the location of primary referral sources can also be helpful.
If more than one site is under consideration, consider the 2nd Community Overview as an inexpensive way to look at both sites in contrast.
The more specific you can be about what you want to know, the more "on-point" our recommendations can be.
